Zhibao International has announced that "AS ONE," an animated film adapted from SQUARE ENIX's arcade game "Starwing Paradox," will be released in the summer of 2025. The film is produced by Zhibao Japan and is a collaboration between director Kobun Shizuno of "Detective Conan" and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto of "Neon Genesis Evangelion," promising to deliver a stunning visual and narrative experience.
"AS ONE" is set 20 years before the events of the original game, "Starwing Paradox." Director Kobun Shizuno and his writing team have crafted a completely new and original story. The plot revolves around the protagonist Yo's singing voice, as his melodies travel through time and space to reach the stellar system of "Touring Stars," unraveling many mysteries that were not revealed in the original work. Sadamoto states that this is his first theatrical film in a long time, and his collaboration with a fresh team will bring a new style to the movie.
Several impression images and concept art have been released, including scenes of the protagonist Yo meeting Rako from the universe in a mysterious space, as well as spectacular space battlefields featuring robot combat. These visuals have generated high anticipation for the film's content.
"AS ONE" begins with Yo, a high school student in Japan aspiring to become a musician, who feels lost at a crossroads in his life. An unexpected incident transports him to the "Touring Stars" in the universe, where his fate intertwines with Rako, a mechanical repair technician. How will this encounter change the future of the universe? This film is not just a visual feast, but also a profound cosmic adventure.
