AsiaYo has recently announced a special promotion aimed at attracting Taiwanese travelers to book hotels under Japan's renowned Hoshino Resorts through its platform, offering early bird prices as low as NT$1,500. Hoshino Resorts is highly regarded in Taiwan for its exceptional service and unique lodging experiences, and this promotion reflects AsiaYo's commitment to enhancing the convenience of travel to Japan for Taiwanese tourists.
Japan remains one of the top travel destinations for Taiwanese, with more than 3.55 million Taiwanese visitors in the first seven months of 2024, according to Japan’s Tourism Agency, ranking just behind South Korea and China. This figure highlights the high level of interest and significant spending power of Taiwanese tourists in Japan. Taiwanese travelers primarily spend on shopping and accommodations, with Hoshino Resorts' hotels being favored for their diverse offerings and high quality.
In addition, KabuK Style, a Japanese travel tech startup, has seen success in the Taiwanese market with its subscription-based lodging platform, "HafH." This platform addresses the issue of fluctuating room rates often seen with online travel agencies (OTAs) by offering a subscription model that provides users with stable room rates. Users pay a monthly fee of $49.99 to join the "HafH Coins" ecosystem, earning 200 HafH Coins each month, which can be used to book various types of accommodations, regardless of peak or off-peak seasons. Additionally, users can opt for a "hibernation membership" status, allowing them to pause their subscription payments while retaining their accumulated HafH Coins.
These developments indicate that whether through traditional accommodation bookings or innovative subscription models, Taiwan’s travel market is adapting to the evolving needs of consumers while fostering greater interest and investment in Japan’s tourism industry.
