KKday has teamed up with Tabelog to make it easier for travelers to book reservations at 42,000 Japanese restaurants in just six steps.

KKday, Taiwan's leading travel e-commerce platform, announced on October 15th a partnership with Japan's largest restaurant reservation platform, Tabelog. This collaboration introduces real-time reservation services for over 42,000 Japanese restaurants. This partnership enables Taiwanese travelers to easily book Japanese restaurants without the need for secondary confirmation, phone calls, or worrying about language barriers.

While Tabelog is free to use in Japan, its overseas version charges a 400 yen service fee. During the partnership with KKday, the reservation fee is NT$95, and KKday will subsidize this fee using KKday Points until December 31st of this year. Tabelog is a massive platform, boasting 2.2 billion monthly page views, information on 860,000 restaurants, nearly 70 million reviews, and support for multiple languages including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

In June of this year, Tabelog launched its international expansion plan. In addition to partnering with KKday, it has also collaborated with platforms such as China's Meituan and Dianping, as well as Hong Kong's OpenRice, aiming to provide convenient restaurant reservation services for all visitors to Japan.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, Taiwanese travelers spend 167.1 billion yen on dining in Japan. While the tourism industry finds it difficult to obtain exclusive resources in the shopping and accommodation sectors, dining has become a key and actionable area. Therefore, the partnership between KKday and Tabelog is a strategic step, not only strengthening KKday's comprehensive services in the Japanese market but also enhancing the customer experience.

Furthermore, this collaboration can increase app usage frequency. Typically, consumers do not reopen travel apps after completing a reservation, but the addition of dining services may encourage repeated app usage, thereby creating more consumption opportunities. Through this strategic partnership, KKday not only provides a comprehensive travel experience but also creates a deeper cultural experience in Japan for travelers.
